IGF-1LR3 is a modified form of insulin-like growth factor 1 with an arginine substitution at position 3 and a 13-amino-acid N-terminal extension. The changes reduce binding to IGF-binding proteins, which prolongs activity in cell-culture systems.

It is widely used as a cell-culture supplement and in studies of IGF-1 receptor signaling, proliferation, and protein synthesis. Supplied as a lyophilized powder for laboratory research only.
